Confession time, I really had to reel it in this year. I had so much I wanted to do! Over and again I had to remind myself of my priorities:
1) Put God first
2) Build a relationship with my children
With those two in mind, I put together our school year. I'm so excited about the new stuff we're getting into.
Bible
Personal devotions
During this time I want to encourage my children to have some quiet time with God with prayer and a short devotion from books like this one or this one.Family Worship
This will be our time together as a family to praise God and learn about him every day, not just on Sunday.
Language Arts
Reading
Mom assigned book and fun book every dayMath
Teaching Textbooks Math 3
Science
Various kits from Spangler Science, MEL Science, Kiwi, and Tinker Crates as well as living literature
Nature study with Exploring Nature with Children
**UPDATE**
After writing this post I found the perfect science curriculum for us! Sassafras Science takes a living literature approach to learning, which we love. Each book in the series takes you on an adventure with twins Blaine and Tracey (I'm a sucker for anything with twins lol). It does pay to wait for the perfect fit.
