The Fam

I am not your typical, average, normal mom. Mostly because I don't think that kinda mom exists. I'm an avid tea drinker, amateur wine connoisseur, and a book snob lover. I'm a wife to an amazing, supportive husband who loves all things Chicago, except the Cubs (Boo, Cubs!) I'm a mom to former micro-preemie twin girls, walking miracles born at 28 weeks weighing 1lb 7oz each at birth. I've been homeschooling since kindergarten and we are loving it. That's us... in a nutshell.

This Blog

I decided to start this blog for several reasons. Firstly, I want to contribute to the Hispanic homeschooling community. There aren't many homeschooling bloggers, vloggers, or podcasters of Hispanic or African American background. I want my children to be exposed to a variety of cultures, traditions, backgrounds and languages. I think the online community should represent that as well. 

Secondly, I want to be an encouragement to all special needs parents. I am with you! It is a completely different world for families who are in need of accommodations, special equipment, therapies and medical intervention for their child or children. I hope you can find some encouragement, ideas, or a sense of it's-not-just-me within these posts.

Lastly, I want to contribute to the homeschooling community as a whole. Every homeschool is different and I don't expect you to copy mine at all. But if an idea makes sense and you think it could work for your homeschool, then go for it. Ignore the rest.

Bottom Line

I will never claim to have all the right answers or that I have it all together because I don't. I will share the ups and downs, what has worked and what has not, and everything in-between while on this journey to educate my children.
